Hey everybody,
I just ran across a game that got some parents all up in arms. The game is called “Dead Island.” Check it out.
I was just asking some parents that if I was going to start doing more gore on the zombies and adding in some kids to the effect would it bother them? The answer I get most of the time is “Yes” and the explanation that I got was that it just hit too close to home.
Right now a lot of parents will let their teens watch the webisodes of “Your Living Dead.” I asked the question of “Why?” Their response: “They don’t have that much gore in them.”
Really? Is that true? Well, I have a girl getting hit by a car, not to shabby. I have a guy taking a gun and shooting himself in the mouth. I have a young teen capping off another woman right in the forehead, I have a guy getting hit by a train, and a woman being blown up. I guess that they are right and I don’t have too much violence. Well, according to them. Sometimes I wonder if they even watched it.
I would love to add in some more violence but I like to keep suspense. Like playing only so many webisodes at a time and keeping the story broken up as much as possible so nobody can figure it out. Well, at least not yet anyways. There will be a time where it will be strung together but since its just a very small crew working on the webisodes it takes a long time to produce some of them. The longest one has taken about six months. Everybody should know that we know its very annoying to some viewers. But this is what it takes sometimes and we do the best we can.
So, I was going to do some other webisodes that had some zombie kids in it. I asked some of the same parents if they would watch them or let their teens watch them. Their response was still “no.” I asked why, and they said it was still inappropriate . But, they would let the teens watch the other webisodes. Even though there are several zombie movies with kids already out there, my main question is: “Would you like to watch webisodes with young kids playing zombies?”.
